Every day Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services is helping children and families HEAL and in the process giving them real HOPE that they can once again THRIVE in life!
So what does it take to change a child’s life story, reunite a family that’s been torn apart for years or help a child overcome educational challenges or mental illness? Well, it takes many things: a dedicated staff of professionals willing to do whatever it takes to help that child and his family; a supportive board of directors willing to commit its time to insure appropriate programs are implemented; a caring community willing and committed to supporting that mission with finances and energy.
We are fortunate to have all of these components at Hathaway-Sycamores. Through an array of programs and services located throughout Los Angeles County, our staff of over 600 delivered services to more than 9400 children and family members this past year. We continue to help clients achieve positive results and our Annual Outcomes Report reflects just some of these outstanding accomplishments.
Our Board of Directors works tirelessly both in meetings and special events to preserve these programs, pledging their personal financial support to the organization as well. The Board constantly addresses an ever-changing external environment and helps the agency grow, responding to the evolving needs of our clients. In two short years, we have opened new service locations in Lancaster, South Los Angeles and Commerce to complement our other nine service locations.
Because we are intent on driving excellent outcomes for our children and families, we need to engage in innovative solutions for them. Since being on the cutting edge of treatment is not reimbursed through our government contracts, how did we get where we are? We rely on the generosity of our community partners to help us fund and find solutions that work. Whether it’s from a direct service volunteer, corporate sponsor, foundation grant, special event or a community donor, these funds play a critical role in our ability to maintain high-quality services and achieve life-changing outcomes.
Hathaway-Sycamores has a dream for each and every one of its children and families. We make sure that dream is translated into hope and we thank everyone who helps us make that dream come true.
